altered....... {artpops}
there is a bit of a surprise today..... this is one small piece of a blog hop for Roben-Marie Smith!! with prizes! so grab your cup of coffee and keep reading....
altered artpops.... i chose three different cards, but when creating used some consistencies across all of the cards to make a set that could be framed and hung together, - like the bits of white stenciled deli paper and bright blue oil pastel marks.
i started with a small artpops cards and collaged a few pieces of vintage book and receipt paper layered with one of my favorite washi tapes and some masking tape (an all time favorite). i also used some stenciled deli paper- they are the pops of white that you see on all of the artpops cards.
Once I had my collage down, I picked colors that were inherent to each of the artpops cards in hi-flow acrylics, spritzed with water, dried, and then followed up with a bright blue oil pastel.
to ensure i was being too tight and contrite when using my pastel- i closed my eyes when drawing. it's ok if you go off of the card- i am sure of it!
once i had gotten to the point where my collage was down, the card had been painted, i then added the words cut from a vintage book. again being consistent by adding a phrase/ words to all of my altered artpops cards.
