Thick & thin- postcard journey

creating a postcard

Sometimes the muse is yelling. (GRAB ME.)

and the work and flow is some sort of existential thing that appears before you eyes.

creation from paper. pencil. ink. paint.

the thin run of ink with a spritz of water. it will float and sink depending on the surface.

is the surface marred or smooth? it will pool. puddle. or run so thin. so close to pale. (variety.)

i am simply this “middle woman” of creation. a handler.

and then the thick is applied. like butter. smoothed. even.

removed. too much. manipulated. cut. sliced as paint is usually not. and applied again.

in the end, there was an easy love for this. the muddled paper left from the transfer. the thick and thin of color. the marred paper from a pencil pushed too hard.

thoughtfully created. and given away.

storytelling this journey.
