Makeshift Palette
Caught in a creative flow.
Reaching for something that is within arm’s reach.
Digging for something to put a tad of paint on.
A tag…..
A humble paper tag.
Yes.
That can be used as a momentary palette.
Especially, when I am just looking for something to hold a tad [of paint].
Clearly more than a dash.
Way more than a sprinkle.
But not as much as a dollop.
…. I mean, I am not going to slather this paint on.
I am sure at the time, I was working in a journal and not a canvas…..
But, why am I writing about this temporary, makeshift palette?
To say, keep it.
The tag….. The humble paper tag.
That makeshift palette.
And allow a serendipitous moment [sometime later], when scanning the vastness of the desk, looking for something to create with and your eyes land on this palette tag.
So much better than a blank tag.
Low pressure.
There is already paint on it.
Allowing for a moment of playful experimenting.
Please enjoy my video of play.
